About NAMI Chicago College Outreach

The NAMI Chicago College Outreach Program (NCCOP) was started to ensure that college students in the Chicago area are aware, educated, and supported about mental health concerns. NCCOP is run by NAMI of Greater Chicago staff and dedicated student, parent, mental health professional, and advocate volunteers. Our goal to make sure that every Chicago-area college student has the opportunity to take an active role in improving their campuses’ overall safety and mental health, and to ensure that all students affected by mental illness feel support, empowered, and educated.

We see the remarkable creativity, passion, and dedication of Chicago-area college students every day: our student volunteers have done everything from creating a peer support training and supervision program, to giving presentations and creating this website. We empower students to make a difference in the mental health of their peers and their communities. Won’t you join us?
