What your school campus can do/could have done to make you or your loved one's recovery easier?

“I went through a slump in college during which, for several weeks, it was extremely difficult for me to get anything done. I was so distraught and distracted that I was unable to go to class or to do work. I had to get official permission to turn in a final paper a week late, and even then it was hard to get it done. At the time I felt a lot of guilt and regret because my grades really suffered that semester. No one in my family was at all hard on me about it, but I guess I wish the school had offered more support, or that the teachers or administrators I talked to had offered some advice. None of them had much of anything to say, and it all felt very odd and somewhat embarrassing.”

“Improve the health insurance plan to allow more mental health benefits (counseling etc.); peer counseling; publicize resources; educational workshops to raise awareness.”
